2024 Construction Season Project Map

City Project 240101 – New HMA Construction, Curb & Gutter, Grading

Project consists of new asphalt roadway construction and curb and gutter work for 16th St SE from 10th Ave SE to 14th Ave SE, 17th St SE from 8th Ave SE to US Hwy 2, 8th Ave SE from 11th St SE to 14th St SE and 10th Ave SE from 15th St SE to 17th St SE. The project was awarded to Gowan Construction, and they will be completing the work this construction season. Work will take place within the public right of way and temporary construction easements. Various roadways and access points will be closed throughout the project and at times limited to local traffic only. Project schedule will be updated as it becomes available.

City Project 240102 – Mill & Overlay, Full Depth Repair, Curb & Gutter

Construction crews will be completing asphalt work throughout the westside, including all streets and avenues west of College Dr N between 8th St NW and 14th St NW. Mayo Construction was awarded the bid for this project and are expecting the work to be completed with short, minimal disruptions to traffic. The project includes multiple areas of full depth repair and curb & gutter repair that will close small sections of the roadway. Project schedule will be updated as it becomes available.

City Project 230201 – Water Main Replacement

Project consists of the replacement of an existing cast iron water main with new poly pipe along 3rd St SE from College Dr N to 3rd Ave SE, 4th St SE from College Dr N to 6th Ave SE, 5th St SE from 5th Ave SE to 8th Ave SE, 6th St SE from 6th Ave SE to 8th Ave SE, 6th Ave SE from 5th St SE to 4th St SE, 7th Ave SE from 5th St SE to 3rd St SE and 8th Ave SE from 6th St SE to 5th St SE. Kemper Construction will be completing the work and will be providing temporary water services to affected residents during the water main replacement. Affected residents will be notified as the project progresses. Kemper Construction began work on May 20th, beginning with water main replacement along 8th Ave SE from 5th St SE to 6th St SE as well as along 6th St SE from 6th Ave SE to 8th Ave SE. The water main along this stretch is currently in place, crews are now working to complete replacement of the water service lines for each resident and will then begin testing and putting the new water main into service.
