New Parking Ticket Fees - effective January 1, 2019

Fines for not moving your vehicle for street maintenance (snow removal and street sweeping) have changed

Summer Fees - May 1st through October 31st
Residential Areas - $15.00
Downtown Areas - $25.00
Downtown Public Parking Lots - $80.00

Winter Fees - November 1st through April 30th

Residential Areas - $30.00
Downtown Areas - $50.00
Downtown Public Parking Lots - $80.00



Snow Removal Guidelines and Procedures

Routine snow removal in the downtown district will take place between 2:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m., except Sundays and Holidays.  Anyone parked on streets or avenues in the downtown district during those hours will receive a parking ticket.

Regularly scheduled snow removal for the downtown parking lots is listed below.  Anyone can use the public parking lots, but need to make sure not to park in the lots during scheduled snow removal days and times. Parking tickets will be issued to violators.

Regularly Scheduled Snow Removal/Maintenance
In The Residential Areas Is As Follows
Streets - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Tues, Thur, Sat
Avenues - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Mon, Wed, Fri

Parking tickets may be issued to vehicles that are not moved for snow removal or maintenance


Property owners are required to remove snow and ice from sidewalks and ramps adjacent to their property within 24 hours after a storm event and are required to keep the sidewalks and ramps clear of snow and ice throughout the winter.  This includes snow ridges left at the ends of sidewalk ramps by snow removal equipment.  The City may, without notice to the property owner, remove snow and ice from sidewalks and ramps that are not cleared within the specified time period.  Costs associated with snow and ice removal will be assessed to the property owner.

Removal of snow ridges left in driveways or on the sides of the alley after the loader has passed is the responsibility of the adjoining property owner. 

It is homeowners responsibility to remove snow from mailbox areas to the satisfaction of the Post Office to ensure continued mail delivery.  Mailboxes set adjacent to the curb are located on the public right of way and mailbox owners are responsible for damage caused to the mailbox or supports by snow removal equipment.
